The hardest target in Ragdoll Archers is never the closest one โ it is the one that is moving. A ragdoll that is tumbling, spinning, or sliding across the field does not stay where you are looking, so an arrow aimed at its current position is an arrow aimed at the past. The players who consistently connect with moving targets are not faster; they simply aim where the body is going to be, not where it is now. That is leading the target.

Why Aiming at the Body Misses
There is a small but constant delay between the moment you release and the moment your arrow arrives. For a stationary target, that delay costs you nothing. For a moving one, the delay is exactly the gap between where you aimed and where the target actually is. So the more a target moves, the more you have to aim ahead of it โ not at it, ahead of it.
Judge the Speed, Not Just the Position
Leading is a prediction, and a good prediction needs two inputs: where the body is, and how fast and in which direction it is traveling. A slow, drifting ragdoll needs only a small lead; a fast, spinning one needs a much bigger one. Take a fraction of a second to read the speed before you commit, and the lead you apply will match the target instead of fighting it.
Practice the Small Lead
Do not start by aiming far ahead โ that overshoots just as often as aiming at the body undershoots. Begin with a small lead, slightly ahead of the target’s path, and adjust from there. If your arrows keep landing behind the body, your lead is too small; if they keep landing past it, your lead is too big. The gap between your arrow and the target tells you exactly how to correct the next one.
Slow Targets Are Easier Than Fast Ones
If you have a choice between a fast-moving target and a slower one, aim for the slower one first. A slow body is easier to lead, easier to hit, and often just as valuable in a chain. Saving the fast, tumbling ragdolls for after you have set up the rest of the round keeps your easier wins banked and your harder shots from derailing the whole exchange. This is the same restraint at work in Pick Smarter Shots โ choosing the shot you can actually complete.
Build the Instinct
For your next few rounds, focus on just one thing: never aim at a moving body’s current position. Aim a small step ahead, watch where your arrow actually lands, and adjust the lead. Within a handful of rounds your eye starts doing the prediction automatically, and moving targets stop being the ones you skip. Ready to try it?
